DEFINICIÓN CONCEPTUAL DE LAS ALTERACIONES DE LA CONDUCTA ALIMENTARIA

Resumen

Las alteraciones de la conducta alimentaria (ACA) se pueden considerar como “alteraciones de la conducta relacionadas con la alimentación”, “prácticas erróneas de control de peso” y la “alteración de la percepción de la imagen corporal”, con una frecuencia o intensidad elevada. No son indicadores patológicos, sino gradientes  de la conducta alimentaria de un individuo que se presentan como un continuum, entre una alimentación normal y la presentación de un trastorno de la conducta alimentaria (TCA) franco. La definición de dichas alteraciones se vuelve necesaria, debido al impacto que estas pudieran tener si se desarrollan a TCA y su sospechada elevada prevalencia. Es necesaria la detección e intervención educativa, para la promoción de buenos hábitos de salud y la prevención del desarrollo de estas ACA a trastornos de la conducta alimentaria.
