LOS TRASTORNOS DE LA CONDUCTA ALIMENTARIA, UN COMPLEJO FENÓMENO BIOPSICOSOCIAL

Resumen

nivel psicopatológico, y siguiendo la cuarta edición del Manual
Diagnóstico y Estadístico de Trastornos Mentales y del Comportamiento
(DSM) de la Asociación Psiquiátrica Americana (1), dentro de los
trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, se distingue la anorexia nerviosa, la
bulimia nerviosa y una categoría residual donde se puede destacar el
trastorno por atracones, quedando éste último como propuesta para la
investigación. El objetivo del presente ensayo es revisar de forma crítica
las causas del aumento de estos trastornos. Consideramos que al
abordar este campo es muy importante el estudio de los factores
nutricionales y psicosociales de la obesidad, lo que nos van a permitir
conocer mejor la naturaleza de los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria. Así, esperamos que la
revisión que se presenta sea de interés para todos los profesionales involucrados en el
afrontamiento del problema, tanto nutriólogos y médicos comunitarios y de familia como psiquiatras
y psicólogos.
