REGISTRO ESTATAL DE MORBILIDAD BUCAL EN NUEVO LEON, MEXICO
Abstract
La salud bucal es parte integral de la salud general y un factor determinante en la Calidad de vida de las personas. En los últimos reportes mundiales sobre salud bucal, la OMS observa que varios problemas ampliamente identificados y estudiados, persisten, particularmente en los grupos menos privilegiados,. la Organización Panamericana de la Salud, creó una nueva estrategia para promover la salud bucal en la Región. La estrategia está sobre los principios básicos que rigen la salud pública: prevención de enfermedades, promoción de la salud y vigilancia o control de la enfermedad. Considerando que en el Estado de Nuevo León (México), no se contaba con un panorama epidemiológico bucal de las principales enfermedades bucodentales, se propuso implementar un sistema de registro de morbilidad bucal que permitiera conocer la incidencia y prevalencia de las enfermedades bucodentales.
Abtsract
Oral health is integral to overall health and a determining factor in the quality of life of people. In recent global report on oral health, the WHO notes that several widely identified and studied problems persist, particularly in underprivileged groups. the Pan American Health Organization, created a new strategy to promote oral health in the region. The strategy is on the basic principles governing public health: disease prevention, health promotion and surveillance and disease control. Whereas the State of Nuevo Leon (Mexico) not had an oral epidemiological overview of the major oral diseases, is proposed to implement a registration system that would allow oral morbidity, the incidence and prevalence of oral diseases.
