AGUA Y SALUD: Cryptosporidium parvum, AGENTE CAUSAL DE UNA NUEVA ENFERMEDAD RELACIONADA CON EL AGUA
Abstract
La aparición de nuevas enfermedades o el resurgimientode viejos males están provocando serios daños a la
salud de los pobladores de diversas regiones del
planeta, y trastornos a los sistemas de vigilancia y
control epidemiológico. Las nuevas enfermedades,
también llamadas enfermedades "emergentes", pueden
definirse como infecciones de reciente aparición en una
población humana, o como enfermedades que han
existido desde hace siglos pero que en los últimos años
han incrementado su virulencia, su incidencia y su rango
de acción geográfica.
