ESTADO NUTRICIONAL DE ADOLESCENTES: RIESGO DE SOBREPESO Y SOBREPESO EN UNA ESCUELA SECUNDARIA PÚBLICA DE GUADALUPE, N.L. MÉXICO
Abstract
El presente estudio valoro es estado nutricional de adolescentes. Fue un estudio transversal que se llevo acabo en una escuela publica de Guadalupe, Nuevo León, México; con 120 estudiantes de 12 a 15 años de edad. La muestra fue al azar y sistemática. El estado nutricional de los asolescentes fue valorado usando el Indice de Masa Corporal (IMC). La prevalencia del riesgo de
sobrepeso y sobrepeso fue del 16% y 26% respectivamente para el genero masculino; comparado
con el 25% y 11% para el genero femenino. La prevalencia del riesgo de sobrepeso y sobrepeso
fue alta para los dos generos; los resultados fueron diferentes y superiores con otros estudios.
Abstract
This study aimed to assess the nutritional status of adolescents. A cross-sectional study was taken
in a public high school in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, México, with 120 students ages 12 to 15 years.
The sample was performed using systematic statistical selection. Nutritional status of adolescents
was assessed using body mass index (BMI). Prevalence rates for "risk of overweight" and
"overweight" were 16% and 26%, respectively, for boys, as compared to 25% and 11% for girls.
Prevalence of "risk of overweight" and "overweight" was thus high for both sexes; the results were
no similar in comparison to other studies.
