The action of oral epidemiology is the pattern and dynamics of diseases of the mouth in a group of human beings, to all people including variables such as age, gender, racial or ethnic group, occupation, susceptibility, etc. Its purpose is to broaden the understanding of the pathological process allowing the development of prevention and control methods. Currently, programs have been implemented related to oral health after the enactment of the WHO, to reduce oral diseases, both the health sector and other agencies have been responsible for the control of oral diseases, trying to give an education and practice of hygiene and preventive methods to obtain an optimal oral health status. To better understand the risk of the presence of plaque in dentobacteriana students Transferred School No. 97 located in Guadalupe Nuevo Leon, Mexico, carried out a transversal epidemiological study, descriptive and analytical study of 422 students. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire on oral hygiene habits and oral exploration to each student. The prevalence of badge dentobacteriana was 100% in this population. It was observed that the students have a significant association between the presence of badge dentobacteriana and control of oral hygiene by brushing and use of oral hygiene aids. The presence of dentobacteriana badge is .17 times higher in those who do not brush their teeth and .35 with no aides and auxiliary methods for the control of oral hygiene. Importantly, the risk of plaque in the students if they make brushing but do not use oral hygiene aids is almost four times higher. While those who did not use aids for oral health practitioners and not brushing, irrigation was increased to almost six times. There is significant relationship between the presence of badge dentobacteriana and control of oral hygiene. The half of the population of moderate to mild badge dentobacteriana. Over three quarters of the population used the method of tooth brushing as hygiene, but only half the population does so as often as recommended. Only a third of the population using oral hygiene aids. The population had the lowest risk of badge dentobacteriana were the methods they used oral hygiene aids and performing tooth brushing.
